The 7-Step Consultation Process

1Meet & Greet
You will be welcomed by Mr Whitehead personally. The consultation is unhurried and private, giving you time to feel comfortable before any clinical discussion begins.
2History & Goals
Mr Whitehead will listen carefully to what you would like to change about your nose, understand your motivations, and review any relevant medical history including breathing concerns or previous surgery.
3Clinical Examination
A thorough examination of the external and internal nose. This includes assessing skin thickness, structural support, septal alignment, and airway function to understand exactly what can be achieved.
43D Imaging & Simulation
Using the VECTRA 3D imaging system, Mr Whitehead will capture a precise model of your nose and simulate potential outcomes. This ensures you share a clear, realistic vision of the result.
5Detailed Discussion
A straightforward explanation of the recommended surgical plan, including technique, expected recovery timeline, risks, and a transparent breakdown of all costs with nothing hidden.
6Your Questions
Dedicated time for you to ask anything at all. There is no such thing as a silly question. Mr Whitehead will answer honestly, even if the answer is that surgery is not the right option.
7Next Steps & Cooling-Off Period
If you choose to proceed, your surgical date can be discussed. A mandatory two-week cooling-off period ensures you have time to reflect on your decision without any pressure.

Consultation Questions

What should I bring to my consultation?
Bring a list of your current medications, any relevant medical records (especially if you have had previous nasal surgery), and photographs showing what you like or dislike about your nose. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring both. Most importantly, come with your questions written down so nothing is forgotten.
Can I have a virtual consultation?
A free 15-minute video screening is available to discuss your goals and assess whether rhinoplasty may be suitable. However, a face-to-face consultation with 3D imaging is required before any surgery can be planned. The clinical examination and VECTRA simulation cannot be replicated virtually.
What is the cooling-off period?
A minimum two-week cooling-off period is mandatory between your consultation and surgery. This is a requirement of good practice and ensures you have adequate time to consider your decision without feeling rushed. Mr Whitehead fully supports this period.
How soon after consultation can I have surgery?
After the mandatory two-week cooling-off period, surgery can typically be scheduled within four to eight weeks, depending on availability. Urgent functional cases may be accommodated sooner where clinically appropriate.
What if I decide not to proceed?
That is completely fine. The consultation carries no obligation whatsoever. Many patients attend a consultation to gather information and take time before deciding. Your consultation fee is non-refundable but there is never any pressure to book surgery.
